Neil Ongkingco's MSc project published
Neil Ongkingco's MSc project has been accepted for publication at AOSD 2006, the international conference on Aspect-Oriented Software Development in Bonn.
During his MSc in Computer Science, Neil Ongkingco extended the AspectJ language with a mechanism for hiding joinpoints. This tackles one of the hardest problems in aspect-oriented programming, namely how to divide responsibility of code maintenance between the author of an aspect and authors of other parts of the system. AOSD is the premier conference on cross-cutting concerns and software modularity, with an acceptance rate of 21%.
Neil's original MSc thesis can be found here .
The paper that will be published (subject to minor revisions) is available as a technical report .
Neil is now a PhD student on the abc project and he is continuing his research into encapsulation and aspects.
