Visit by Rick Rashid
Microsoft's senior vice-president of research, Dr. Rick Rashid, visited Oxford on January 6.
Rashid, accompanied by four other executives of Microsoft Research (Andrew Herbert, Andrew Blake, and Chris Bishop), met with the programming tools team.
The team presented its work on Tools for Software Evolution, consisting of three projects:
- CodeQuest: Scalable source code queries
- abc: an extensible, optimising compiler for AspectJ
- JunGL: a scripting language for refactoring
While at first glance these projects may appear quite different, there are a lot of common threads.
